With job approval ratings nestling in the thirties – an unprecedented (unpresidented?) benchmark for any president at this stage in their administration’s tenure – two key polls have indicated just how much “winning” President Donald Trump is doing.

First off, on the topic of Trump’s Muslim travel ban being blocked by federal courts, a new poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that most Americans agree with the courts’ decision to block the president’s move.

According to the AP, A whopping 57% of Americans “believe the courts have acted correctly by blocking the travel ban” with only 39% saying “the judges are wrongly interfering.” And despite obvious partisan divides (82% of Democrats are for the court ruling, 73% of Republicans are against), a majority of 56% of independents agree with the courts as well.

“From the beginning President Trump said, even before the election, that he intended to ban Muslims, not that he intended to ban terrorists but Muslims,” said Nick Hardy, 54, an independent voter who said he leans Democratic. “That’s just not right.”

Meanwhile, a separate AP poll conducted simultaneously to gauge Americans’ support of Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris climate accords revealed that an overwhelming majority of Americans disapprove; with only “less than a third of Americans” actually supporting Trump’s move. According to the survey, a dismal 18% of respondents agree with Trump’s idea that “pulling out of the international agreement to reduce carbon emissions will help the U.S. economy.”

Poll findings also shows that two-thirds of Americans think climate change is happening, while only about 10% feel otherwise.

A Muslim travel ban and climate science deregulations were not only a mainstay of Trump’s winning presidential campaign, but are also a recurring theme of his currently floundering administration. They are rivaled in priority only by his promise to build a Mexican border wall (another failure) and lacklustre performance in repealing Obamacare (which is a whole other debacle in and of itself).
