According to Time.com, the president’s approval rating “has hit another low in a new poll, following dizzying weeks of damaging revelations and controversial decisions in the White House.”
Conducted by a Politico/Morning Consult survey between May 16-18, poll findings conclude that 53% of respondents disapprove of Trump as President while only 41% approve. These new numbers are the the president’s lowest approval since he took office earlier this year.
58% said they disapproved of Trump’s apparent sharing of classified intel with Russian officials – directly questioning the president’s ability to manage sensitive information. 50% thought the ousting of FBI Director James Comey was wrong. On the matter of personality (which arguably would affect the reality TV star more than anything), 77% consider Trump to be too arrogant for the Oval Office.
According to Morning Consult, this marks the third time Trump’s approval rating has reached a fresh low during the month of May alone; having dropped from 44% on May 4 and 42% on May 12.
This all comes compounded with the ongoing and building investigation of the Trump campaign’s collusion with foreign adversaries – a subject from which the idea of impeachment is gaining more and more traction with each news cycle. Trump himself has called the investigation a “witch hunt,” and has claimed that “no politician in history has been treated worse.”

So, here’s where the danger part comes in.
Trump is nothing if not a face-saving machine. He will think, do, say or harm at the slightest whim of apparent disregard in the public’s eye if it stands to a) distract from the issues that ail him, and b) make him look like the boss he claims to be.
A month ago – while under similar duress due to falling approval ratings – Trump took to firing off 59 missiles at an empty airfield in Syria as an indirect response to his sinking popularity at home.
Today – as the freshman president embarks on his first overseas diplomacy trip – his latest polls could mean disaster for our security and integrity on the world stage.
